Freedom doesn't always arrive quietly. Sometimes you have to paint your way into it.
Liberated is where the Rewilding Collection began.
Painted intuitively to music, this piece wasn't planned so much as released. Deep plum, violet, black and flashes of electric pink move through a raw copper-toned ground, forming a feather that feels simultaneously grounded and untamed.
There is something imperfect about her. Unpolished. Uncontained.
And that is precisely the point.
Liberated is what it looks like when you stop asking permission to become yourself.
ABOUT LIBERATED
I didn't set out to create a collection when I painted Liberated.
I put on music and painted.
No sketch. No carefully planned palette. No attempt to make something that would fit neatly into what I thought my art was supposed to look like.
I just let myself respond.
And somewhere in the layers of copper, violet, black and wild streaks of pink, this feather emerged.
So did an idea.
Rewilding.
A collection about returning to the parts of ourselves that have been quieted, edited, domesticated or tucked away. About rediscovering instinct. Color. Voice. Freedom.
Liberated became the first piece in that story—not because I knew where the collection was going, but because for once, I didn't need to.
I just painted.
And followed where it led.
