16 × 20 inches | Oil on canvas | Gold floating frame
She stopped asking what she was allowed to be.
Unbound is a study in the freedom that comes when we stop measuring ourselves against the boundaries that once defined us.
Against a deep midnight-blue ground, a single feather emerges in unapologetic strokes of crimson, pink, gold, lavender and icy blue. Some marks are delicate. Others are wild. They overlap, interrupt one another and push beyond the edges of what a feather is supposed to look like.
That's the point.
There comes a moment when freedom stops being about escape and starts being about ownership—of your voice, your choices, your contradictions, your life.
Unbound is about that moment.
Not running away.
Not proving anything.
Just finally realizing:
Nothing gets to tell you who you're allowed to become.
Created as part of my Rewilding Collection, Unbound explores what happens when we loosen our grip on expectation and begin trusting instinct again.
The feather has become a recurring symbol throughout this collection because I love the contradiction within it: something can be delicate without being weak. Soft without being submissive. Beautiful without being contained.
Unbound carries that idea in color.
