Created without brushes, this heavily textured floral was painted directly with my hands—pressing, dragging and layering vivid color across a midnight-dark background. What began as small traces of peach and hope became something far less tentative: beauty no longer merely emerging, but demanding space.
This painting arrived as I was beginning to find myself again—not the version shaped by expectation or permission, but the woman beneath it all. She is still tender. Still wild. Still becoming. But she is no longer willing to make herself smaller.
Velvet Riot is the final piece in the Rewilding collection: a celebration of softness that refuses to disappear, color that will not be quiet and beauty bold enough to take up the whole damn room.
